Hey, friends! It’s Foxy!
How to start this? ‘I hope this website finds you well’? I joke, but I certainly do hope so.
Welcome to the Foxfire! Some of you are meeting me for the first time, and some of you might remember me from Twitch and/or YouTube where I goofed about games as FaeEyedFox. We had a lot of fun together playing games like Persona 3 Reload, My Time at Portia, Pokémon, Animal Crossing and more. However, I did find streaming made it difficult for me to share all the stories I loved; I wanted us to experience them together from start to finish, to chat about them and nerd out about them, but my life was just too busy.
I got a Kindle Scribe for my birthday this year, and I actually found myself taking notes about theme, and passages I liked, and writers’ craft. Then I started making notes and thinking more deeply about the games I was playing. I never thought I’d be the kind of person who did that; I thought that was for booktubers, iceberg channels, English Lit majors, and other very clever people who know a lot about that kind of thing. Even so, I took my notes, and I thought and thought, and I realised I wanted to talk about stories again. Not just video games, but novels, and television, films, graphic novels, poetry, and songs. Maybe there’ll even be some cooking in there, too, someday. Food tells a story, too.
For now we’ll start here, sharing Tails by the Foxfire. Over the course of some blogs and hopefully some video content in the future, I hope we’ll be able to walk down memory lane together, or discover something interesting and new. I’d love it as well if you could recommend some of your favourites to me too, or help me discover a title I might be interested in! If you love video games, sci-fi, and fantasy, I’m sure we’ll have a lot in common. I can’t wait to find out what!
